Howdy!
Bacause of the Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts (I would guess something fairly similar to the Montreal Arts Council) The Baltimore Museum of Art and the Walters Art Museum are free for everyone all the time, every day. On top of that there are another ten smaller museums that are participating in this thing called Freefall Baltimore so that they are free as well for a smaller period of time. Then don't even get me started about the Dance, Film, History, Lectures, Music, Theater and other cultural events that are free for everyone from the beginning of October to the end of November. Now that's some journees de la culture, eh? It basically cost $750,000 [word document alert].
